dude seeing these Mega high quality images of the surface of mars that we now have has me fucked up. Like. Mars is a place. mars is a real actual place where one could hypothetically stand. It is a physical place in the universe. ITS JUST OUT THERE LOOKING LIKE UH IDK A REGULAR OLD DESERT WITH LOTS OF ROCKS BUT ITS A WHOLE OTHER PLANET?

LIKE THIS JUST LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE A PERSON’S BACKYARD. LIKE YEA A LITTLE DUSTY MAYBE THERE WAS A SANDSTORM BUT THAT’S COOL I’M JUST GONNA WALK DOWN TO THE STORE P S Y C H YOU’RE ON MARS BICH!

i hate to be rude and intrude on this post but we have decent pictures of the surface Venus too!

Nasa has found a twin Earth orbiting a star like the Sun in the Milky Way. Kepler 452b – which has been dubbed Earth 2.0 – is six billion years old, has a 385 day year and orbits its star at the same distance as us. It is 1,400 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. This image compares Earth, left, to Kepler-452b, which is about 60 percent larger.

Whimsical portray of space: Lots of light dots, constellations, the milky way, a nice dark blue and the hope that you could one day reach those stars.

Exciting portray of space: Way more light dots, lots of colors, especially orange and red. Asteroids, galaxies, nebulae and other things that are supposed to be too dim to see but you feel like they’re all within reach of your warp drive.

Scary portray of space: Darkness. A big empty void for billions of kilometers in all directions, a single dim dot represents Earth, it’s far away and out of reach.
