SURVEY FOR MY SCHOOL WORK

I’m writing an (fairly long) essay for school about how anonymity influences our thinking and decisions on a moral level while acting online and in real life. (I only have one week left and I don’t know if the articles and so on I collected are enough for 10 pages so please help.)

As it is an essay about the internet, it’d be nice to get some opinions from people on the internet.
It’d be nice if you could just reblog this or answer one (or all) of these questions in any way (you can also send me anon messages).

Do you act morally different on the internet than in real life?
Do you consider file sharing stealing/do you think it’s okay?
Have you experienced anon-hate on tumblr?
Do you feel better about your own opinion online than when you are with your family/friends in real life?
Have your morals changed because of the internet?
Any other thoughts on the topic?

1. No, I don’t react morally different, but I am a lot more honest. I also seem to find more suitable answers than in real life.

2. Yes, I consider it stealing, but I think it’s “okay” (and I do realize my logic is rather flawed here)

3. Quite the opposite tbh.

4. YES. The internet is so much more diverse than the few people I know in real life, that’s why I’m far more relaxed about it.

5. I’ve come in contact with so many different people, which has greatly broadened my horizon, so yes, I think so.

other thoughts: I guess the way the internet can change your behaviour and morals depends on what websites you visit and what level of awareness and media literacy you have.
