ART: Psychedelic Paint and Poured Resin Artworks by Bruce Riley
Bruce Riley is a Chicago based artist who drips paint into paint in an endlessly layered arrangement resulting in paintings that look like underwater scenes, psychedelic visions and abstract dreamscapes.
My book came in yesterday!ヾ(@°▽°@)ノTook photos of the more interesting pages; the rest are all promotional artworks.
I must admit, I’m a little disappointed with the amount of art in the book (excluding promo artworks). I thought it would include concept of all the new megas (I wanna see Mega Slowbro’s lol) and a bit more of the environment design. It’d also have been nice if it included the art that can be found in the guide book (Gym Leaders/Maxie/Archie/Protag’s contest outfit concepts). Maybe I’m just asking for too much, but then again it’s supposed to be an artbook.
All in all, it’s a nice collector’s item, but I don’t really think it’s worth $100+ (I paid around that due to someone trying to outbid me, shopping service + miscellaneous fees and international shipping). I also didn’t get the figurines + shijitaki (pencil boards) that were preorder specials as I didn’t see the need to have them.
