Whimsical portray of space: Lots of light dots, constellations, the milky way, a nice dark blue and the hope that you could one day reach those stars.
Exciting portray of space: Way more light dots, lots of colors, especially orange and red. Asteroids, galaxies, nebulae and other things that are supposed to be too dim to see but you feel like they’re all within reach of your warp drive.
Scary portray of space: Darkness. A big empty void for billions of kilometers in all directions, a single dim dot represents Earth, it’s far away and out of reach.
There has to be a long German word for this feeling: “Look, I don’t disagree with you on any major points of fact or opinion, but you’re being such a smug pretentious bastard about it that I want to shove your face in regardless”
