I’ve been feeling weirdly tired lately, in the somehow-sad and spiritless way. It feels like I’m hiding in my room, but hopefully it is just because my friends from this city are not around currently. Still, it feels weird, I don’t feel like myself at all.

how insidious to make young girls buy hundreds of dollars worth of makeup, to force them to read up on its theory, to make them practice it for hours in order to escape mockery, to make them feel safe only when performing this hyper femininity, and then to even have the audacity to package it in feminist language so that they firmly believe it sets them free.

Photo of the Day – The Hildebrandt’s Starling (Lamprotornis hildebrandti) is only found in Kenya and Tanzania, where they inhabit open woodland and thornbush country. The species feeds on insects and fruit. While they typically forage on the ground, they do sometimes catch insects in flight.
