@ America
now, full transparency; I have an opinion on guns, and it’s not that ordinary people should be allowed to own them, let alone carry them down the street…
But for now this post wont be strictly about my opinions, because I just want to ask a question. I am genuinely curious,
What will it take, for you to enact some actual impactful change, to curb your raging gun violence epidemic?
You’ve shown that people being shot dancing in clubs, and having fun at concerts, isn’t enough
That women seeking health care, people going to church, being gunned down, isn’t enough
That teenagers reading books in their schools, learning, playing, being massacred while they flee, while they cower in fear, or before they even know there’s a threat and are just going to class and are shot in the head, isn’t enough
That primary school children, pre pubescent children, literally completelly & utterly defenseless, vulnerable, little kids, being slaughtered, isn’t enough
….where is the line?
1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 15, 17, 20, 30, 50, 60, 70, 90, 100…..1000’s…..how many people have to die?
You’re up to 58 now.
Is it 60? Is that what you’re waiting for?
Is 60 deaths from one shooting your limit? Is that the value of human life that tips the scale against guns?
In the next couple months when the next “largest mass shooting in US history” has inevitably occurred, and more than 60 people have been killed, is that where you’ll draw the line?
Is it an age thing? If 10 year olds isn’t the line, is the line drawn at toddlers?
Does there have to be a string of pre school mass shootings before you reach the line?
Are you waiting for large scale invasions of hospitals, hundreds of new borns in intensive care all shot in the face at close range with a semi automatic gun?
Because I honestly don’t know,
Where is your line?
…..Does a line even exist?
Or does it simply not matter how many adults, teenagers, children or babies are massacred, because you have a “right to bear arms!”
because honestly, I cannot at all comprehend, understand or relate to your desire to support guns
Am I just the ignorant one here?
Is there something I’m missing?
Because to me, to the country I live in, and to most other countries on earth,
it’s not at all a difficult decision to overhaul gun culture through tough legislation & legal action, to prevent mass shootings and the preventable slaughter of hundreds of adults and children.
But for America, that’s a controversial decision and so i ask,
what will have to occur, if anything, for you to say enough is enough?
Where is the line?
