The winter garden: December has not brought any snowfall yet, but on cold mornings the garden is rimed with frost, transforming it into a silver and gold wonderland. Ethereal Molinia fan like champagne gold peacocks unfurled; encrusted silver wands of Echium and Monarda scepters stand slender in contrast. There are ruined watch towers of Miscanthus and Echinops baubles, along with the silvered disks of sedum and achillea.
A great argument for leaving the garden standing for the winter.
