Tell us a little bit about the places you explore near to where you live. What fascinates you about them?

I’ve lived my entire life in the Dandenong Ranges but had hardly seen any of it, aside from driving through, when I started exploring at the end of 2013. At first I was drawn to the solitude and quiet of the forests but then I caught the exploring bug when I found notes from other hikers and then an abandoned house in the woods. All of a sudden I was that weird guy who follows a goat around for an hour to see if he knows some interesting places.

You make some cool handmade jewellery that are heavily nature-inspired! Tell us about the method you put behind creating some of these.

Thank you! From spending so much time in nature and having an inquisitive nature myself, I began finding ways I could use the natural materials around me to create new things and took inspiration from my surroundings to implement into creations from more standard materials. I’m always finding new items that interest me and even if I don’t immediately have an idea for it, I’ll take it home to put in my cluttered storage for when inspiration strikes.
