god i love this because like you can tell when the writers were writing these lines they were meant to be like dark sarcastic and witty but hugh dancy plays it SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY like the way he delivers these lines makes will sound like he’s just desperately trying to be funny and make jokes to put people at ease but he’s so shaky and twitchy that it just makes everyone around him VISIBLY MORE ON EDGE like it’s completely unthreatening and not at all biting you’re just kind of like william what the HELL don’t SAY things like that it’s WEIRD and i fucking love that because it’s so much truer to life!!! things sound way better in your head!!! hugh fancy you’re ok you’re ok in my book hugh fancy
