This is the history of the Nine Realms, as told through the eyes of Loki,  ”the Light-Bringer, the misunderstood, the elusive, the handsome and modest hero” It tells right from when Loki first met Odin up until Ragnarok, the end of the Nine Worlds, and apparently will not be short on either humour or darkness. (For all of you that don’t know, that’s 500 years before Runemarks and Runelight is set) This is classed as an ‘adult fantasy’, which is obviously very exciting as the two books in this series previously have been teenage fantasy, so I hope that there will be some difference in tone and content. 

As a lover of Norse mythology myself – BEFORE I encountered Marvel, or Mr. Hiddleston, just making that clear – I am SOOO excited!!!! Loki has always been my favourite god, and while I love the Marvel films and Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal, I always pictured Loki as a little more two-sided: neither dark, nor light. That’s another reason why I’m so excited about the film Thor: The Dark World coming out – redemption for you-know-who! 

And for those of you that don’t know, the runes on the bottom are Os, the Aesir; Thuris, Thor’s rune, the thorny one; Kaen, Loki’s rune, wildfire, chaos; and finally Daeg, the Thunderbolt, a new day. 

I am unbelievably excited!!!
